A Wonderful Blend of Preventative Dentistry and Braces.

Schedule Your Visit

Teens and young adults have added pressures when it comes to school, peers and social media. Their appearance awareness is magnified during this maturing process. Invisalign was designed to provide orthodontic corrections without being seen. If you have a diligent teen, who may not feel comfortable with traditional metal braces, Invisalign may be an attractive option.

  • Your teens can keep eating all their favorite foods.
  • They can stay active in all the sports.
  • Invisalign allows them to keep brushing and flossing without braces getting in the way.
  • They will experience fewer emergency visits, by avoiding broken brackets and wires.
  • The aligners are clear and virtually invisible. It’s hard to even notice they’re wearing them.

Invisalign aligners work in most cases to help treat numerous orthodontic problems including overbites and underbites, as well as crowded teeth, gaps between the teeth, and rotated teeth. These invisible braces are an appealing choice for many adults too. Especially those who wore braces as children and experiencing teeth shifting in adult life and are now in need of some correction. You will be able to see your progress along the way and enjoy your new smile as it transforms with each aligner.

Before starting Invisalign treatment, a 3D scan of your mouth and a bite registration will be taken. We also take photos and x-rays to work up a complete treatment plan. These will be used to help Brent J. Porter D.D.S, your Santa Cruz Pediatric Dentist, show how the patient’s teeth and jaws fit together and give record of their profile, face, and teeth before treatment.

Delivering aligners

  • When you pick up your first aligners, Dr. Brent J. Porter will ensure that your aligners fit well, answer any questions you may have, and let you know what to expect over the course of your treatment.
  • Each set of aligners is worn for two to four weeks, as prescribed by your dentist.
  • Check-ups are every four to eight weeks to check your progress and pick up the next batch of aligners.
  • With each new set of aligners, it is normal to feel a little extra pressure or discomfort for the first few days.

Wearing aligners

  • Easy removal and placement. Just take the aligners out to eat and drink, then brush theteeth before putting them back in.
  • For best results, it is recommended to wear the aligners 20 to 22 hours a day.
  • Invisalign has blue compliance indicators to assure wearing time is enough.
  • To keep the aligners clean, rinse the aligners every night and brush them gently with your toothbrush.
  • Please contact our friendly team today if you have questions or would like to schedule a visit with Brent J. Porter D.D.S., Santa Cruz Children’s Dentist at (831) 459-9802. We look forward in hearing from you.
